Llyn Crafnant - Snowdonia National Park Nth Wales

Llyn Crafnant - Snowdonia National Park North Wales

The Llyn

Llyn Crafnant is situated in the Snowdonia National Park right on the edge of Gwydir Forest just above the village of Trefriw. Its a great spot for those who want to escape and relax in a rural setting. The Llyn is a great walk with stunning scenery and the path around is 2.4 miles on a gravel path which is also doable if your pushing a buggy!.
There are other walks available which are carefully mapped out on an information board in the car park just below the Llyn. These are range from easy to a more strenuous walk that will test out those willing to push themselves that little bit further. There is also a walk to Capel Curig if you proceed straight over the back of the Llyn.
There are facilities in the car park like toilets and litter disposal containers and Free Parking!. The car park is set in the woodland to one side next a stream running off the Llyn with picnic benches set on the edge of the Gwydir Forest over looked by steep valley slopes of the Carneddau Mountains.

There are wild ponies and a waterfall to see when on a walk on the trails.

Here is a link to watch a short film I took in winter of Jan 2017 to highlight a few points about the Llyn.

The cafe at the lake side is seasonal.

If you fancy a bit of fishing you can get details by contacting the Lakside Cafe at Crafnant.
